At Eden Christian Academy we strive to give every child the best educational experience possible. For some of our students this means getting an extra hand to help them reach their full potential. Discovery is educational therapy designed to stimulate deficit areas of cognitive processing for students who experience learning difficulties. Since 1989, Eden has helped dozens of students through this model program from the National Institute for Learning Development (NILD).

 

Discovery isn’t a tutoring program, but rather employs therapeutic techniques to develop a student’s perceptual skills and cognitive processing, which should result in improved academic performance and even social skills.

 

Your child may benefit from the Discovery program at ECA if he or she has average to above-average abilities, yet still experiences significant problems in areas such as:

• Math

• Reading

• Writing

• Spelling    

• Speaking

• Attention

• Listening

• Reasoning

 

Some of the distinctives of the Discovery program include:

* Three-year commitment by Eden and the family

* Fee-based, billed separately or with tuition payments

* Individual attention and specialized learning techniques chosen for the student

* Annual re-evaluation testing

* One on one attention
